AIG Forms Joint Venture With Creativeland Studios to Launch in India

In a significant development for the Indian entertainment industry, Artist International Group (AIG), under the leadership of David Unger, and Creativeland Studios, helmed by Sajan Raj Kurup, have unveiled a joint venture to establish AIG India. This new talent and production company aims to bridge the gap between Hollywood and India’s vibrant creative scene.

AIG India will focus on discovering, nurturing, and promoting Indian talent across various artistic fields, leveraging AIG’s global reach and Creativeland Studios’ in-depth knowledge of the Indian market. The collaboration seeks to provide Indian talent with opportunities to achieve international acclaim while also introducing international talent to the Indian subcontinent.

AIG’s current roster includes Michelle Yeoh, Anil Kapoor, Fan Bingbing, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Gong Li. AIG India is expected to unveil a lineup of Indian talent soon.

Creativeland Studios Entertainment LLP, a part of Creativeland Asia Group, specializes in curating,
producing and aggregating long-format storytelling.

Unger said: “Through this joint venture, we aim to unlock new avenues for Indian artists to showcase their work globally and hope to bring Hollywood and global talents to India, fostering true collaborations. I am confident that our united strengths will provide unparalleled opportunities and spearhead the next wave of cultural innovation, both in India and globally.”

Kurup added: “I am a firm believer that content and talent are geography agnostic. Partnering with David and launching AIG India allows us to extend our creative horizons and provide our talent with the global exposure they deserve and vice versa. This joint venture is a testament to our commitment to pushing the boundaries of creativity and fostering a vibrant cultural exchange. Especially now more than ever, with Indian talent proving its mettle on the international stage.”

There is at least one previous example of a Hollywood-India partnership in the talent sector. A four-year joint venture between Creative Artists Agency (CAA) and India’s Kwan was dissolved in 2016 when Kwan bought out CAA’s stake in the company. Kwan has since rebranded as Collective Artists Network.
